Looking to Nature for Wisdom in Embracing Change; Harnessing Creativity and Dealing with Chaos

NaturTech, is an innovative approach to organizational change issues, based on the creativity and adaptability of nature in coping with chaos and change over billions of years.   

In her engaging interactive presentation about NaturTech, Dr. Frank will use examples from Great Falls Park.  She will take us on a virtual walk through Great Falls Park, the equivalent of the “Nature of Organization Walk” she offers to public groups and organizations to learn from nature how to adapt better to change, see opportunities rather than threats and increase their ability to innovate. 

Autographed copies of Dr. Frank’s “The Pothole Mystery and the Secret of Balanced Rocks at Great Falls Park.” A children’s book she has written about change in the park through time, will be available at the presentation. 

An understanding of natural process, as well as human interactions on a local and global level, has been the primary focus of Dr. Barbara Joyce Frank’s 35-year professional career.  As a Professor of Geology/Environmental Science at the University of Maryland Munich Campus for 15 years, she developed an extensive study tour program to help teachers, undergraduate students and civilians to connect with the extraordinary natural beauty of Europe.  She has held senior level management positions at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as a senior congressional staff position on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space and Technology.  Most recently, Dr. Frank created Meeting Oasis, a firm dedicated to helping organizations with the meeting process. www.MeetingOasis.com
